For the record, I was one of those people who bitched and screamed about what Blaze did to my Iron Maiden too. After about a year of gathering dust, I gave X-factor another spin and couldn't believe what I had been missing. It was because of falling for the maiden releases, which very slowly became two of my favorite maiden albums, that I looked him up and discovered that he was on his third "solo" album. I bought them all and devoured every single one, just like I did with Piece of Mind and Number of the Beast 20 years earlier. Unlike Maiden, who are still the godfathers of heavy metal, Blaze keeps coming back stronger every time. maybe because Blaze has never had it easy, he has never gotten stale. Promise and Terror, in my opinion, is right up there with the all-time classics from Maiden, Priest, Metallica and Megadeth, and in my opinion, Blaze is even better.
